Album Review: Michael Butler- "Music for Another Day"

Lucy Tonic

Music for Another Day is the eighteen-track album from musician, composer and songwriter, Michael Butler. Opening track "Now Voyager" is an acoustic and violin-filled song about self-discovery, while "Voice of a Hero" describes inner battles of bravery, surviving and returning to one's homeland (or not). "Pure Latina" is a drum-filled song with a salsa beat and a chorus that easily could be butchered in a rap song, but I'm glad Butler got to it first (hearing the real instruments is always a treat as well). Polish Review - Twoj Blues Magazine
Sept 16th 2006 Issue

The Author of this CD is a 43 year old African – American New Yorker who Plays music which he describes as “modern folk”. His style falls somewhere between Bob Dylan (from the time of “Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid” or “Desire”) Crosby, Sills, Nash & Young, Tracy Chapman, and Erik Bibbem. The full blooded sound of acoustic guitar together with a violin, piano and folk voice gives it a unique atmosphere sprinkled with beautifully sounding “Beatle” choruses. From the very first sound to the last, this CD grabs your attention and creates an atmosphere. Michael Butler wrote that he will gladly accept invitations for concerts in Europe. I suggest to the organizations to accept his offers.
